Minerality: Is it Real? - Brian Smith
$29.00
Winemakers and Wine Marketers all around the world make easy use of theterm terroir, suggesting that their wines are truly representative of their geography. One of the tasting terms frequently associated with terroir is minerality, underscoring the assumption that mineral components of terroir like slate, or iron, or wet rocks are somehow reflected in the wine. But what is this minerality? How do we detect it? Which wines have it, and which ones don't? Using wines from different locations such as Alsace in France, and Penedes in Spain, Brian Smith will offer insights into this tricky (somewhat subjective) question.
